	Born2doItRight says: 09/17/2007	My Ex- was a musician and I accompanied him to many gigs where he could try out on Sunday's. He was successful at getting into many different bands. 1. Advertise in your local paper, in the grocery store, at your local college, and on any bulletin board you find. Start out small, and work on doing talent shows. Get together with friends, buy your equipment, and have something to offer. Make sure you know at least twenty different songs by heart, and be willing to sing in more than one genre. Get your feet wet, and never let yourself feel bad about what people might say to you. Set your goal, and start out one step at a time. Good Luck!
	ndannison says: 06/29/2007	Hi! I'm a singer in a band. I sing lead and play fiddle in a relatively successful bluegrass band. Trick is to smile real big while you're singing. This gets your lips out of the way. Playing harmonica helps - gives you something to hold in your hands and makes you look cool (plus you can learn to play harp in about a half hour). Also, sing loud! That's how you improve. Sing as loud as you possibly can while you're driving in your car or in the shower. That way, even if you can't hit the note, you're showing enough confidence to win the audience over. It's all about stage presence, and hitting every not isn't vital. Just look up Frank Black!
