I just read a cool article in Oprah about having dinner parties where people pay $35 and donating the profits to a charity, instead of going out to eat/drink.
Another neat idea is: "On the alternate months, we have a virtual dinner. We all stay at home and send the money we would have spent to a cause outside the community."

It should be very easy to raise a couple hundred bucks. Have 10 people over, make good food for $5-10/person - easily done. With $350, you'll have $250 min. to donate. Not a bad way to raise money for charity!
