I always informally jotted quotes I heard down on random scraps of paper, the inside of books, napkins, the back of my hand...but after loosing most of those, I started keeping a journal of them all in this notebook. (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9788883701122&itm=1) It's perfect for keeping with you all the time because it's so durable and even has a little pocket for holding things like pictures or postcards. It's perfect for an inspiration journal!!
This is a really good idea.I will start this on my trip to Canada. I have so much stuff bottled up from not writing it down. I walk around and ideas, inspiration, pictures and quotes just pop up and I lose them before I get home. So I think the way to go is to have a big main journal at home and a small notebook to carry with you as you come across something good and inspiring.
Tomorrow i plan to start on this goal.Really i already have.I collected some very inspiring quotes. All i need is a book to start with.

I recently went through some tough times (spouse had an affair, then divorce) and using a journal to collect thoughts, quotes, etc. helped me stay sane and process my thoughts in a positive manner. Now looking back on where my mind was a year ago is quite enlightening. I've come a long way. Writing is a powerful tool.
In 1987, I made a hard-bound journal full of quotes, poetry and articles about writing & life, interspersed with images I cut from magazines and colorful doodles and borders I did myself.
I can still look at this journal 20 years later and feel inspired.
Many of the pages were filled with my favorite quotes from "The Journals of Anais Nin." To quote from Anais:
"All the world suffers from the sterility of consciousness, and has to be cured by tapping the unconscious to find the true source of life again."
A journal like this feels like a visual exploration of the unconscious. I'm so glad I kept mine!
I have three books like this and I think their some of the most important, mind clearing things a person can have. I go back and re-read them a lot and I can remember exactly what was going on in my life just by reading the type of quotes or poems I wrote down.
