I recently read that the Office of Tibet in New York says anyone can request an audience for free, however as you can imagine it may take several months to get an audience: 212-213-5010.

What does it mean to have an audience? Is that where you can meet the Dalai Lama? Or is it just sitting in the audience while he speaks or something like that?
