If you're interested in saving the environment, I have this coffee table book called "365 Ways to Save the Earth" by Philippe Bourseiller (Abrams Press). Also a beautiful book of photographs. It has one suggestion for every day of the year. For example:

- Unplug seldom-used appliances (toaster, coffee maker, blender, etc.) once you're done with them

- Sign an environmental charter (applies to rock climbing, scuba diving, etc.)

There's also "The Everyday Activist: 365 Ways to Change the World" by Michael Norton (House of Anansi Press), which doesn't focus specifically on the environment. In a similar day-by-day format as above.
