I spend the better part of two years coming home from work pouring over real estate websites, and newspaper supplements trying to find a) the perfect house b) in the perfect neighbourhood c) in my price-range. Well, it doesn't happen. I'll never get ON the property ladder with a gated, three bedroom "MTV Crib". I finally went to look at a newbuild flat that I saw in the paper and jumped at it, as you need to be on the property ladder to move up it! It's not my dream house and maybe THAT's enough to spur me onto moving on up the ladder but as long as I remember that a home doesn't have to be for life, I'll be fine.
	DJJOE says: 12/30/2006	save a deposit up and look around for bargins sometimes the poor run down ones are not even advertised at the agents window so pop in often. £5,000 should do it! also get a friend to go half or get 3 friends if you cant afford it on a special shared morgage with someone like a morgage broker. or buy my house in nottingham at a good price!
