	susiew says: 02/14/2007	A few ideas about backpacking in Europe: Instead of a regular backpack I'd get the kind that also has rollers, so you can give your shoulders a rest once in a while. In addition to hostels you might want to check out Couch Surfing - http://www.couchsurfing.com which is a community where people will let you crash out on their couches including in Europe. They have trust ratings and reviews so you can get a pretty good idea in advance who you might want to crash with. (I've never used it myself but keep it in mind!) There are really low fares now on airlines like EasyJet and I wonder if sometimes it's cheaper to fly than take the train to countries if you're going a long distance and are short on time.
	verman84 says: 12/20/2006	I was planning on backpacking from basically Ireland/London to Greece/Italy making stops in between and I was just curious on a ballpark estimate on how much this trip could cost. I plan on staying in hostels and rooming with some friends I know over there but I am thinking around $2000-$3000 for 30 days. I know that depending on where I go, what I do, how I eat, etc is going to play into effect but I'm curious to see how much/little people can/have done this with.
