I am an artist who has quite my job more than once to devote myself to painting. The problem is that, so far, I have not made enough to survive on and have ended up going through most of my savings. I am now at the point that I need to go out and get a job soon. I am not a 9 to 5 person and I hate schedules and find that when I have a job it distupts my creative flow and I end up going through long dry spells where I don't create.

I love to paint and need to paint but I am not good enough at the business end to promote my own work. It is funny because although I have been very successful at managment when I work at a job I cannot seem to manage my own art business successfully.

I would love to connect with other artists and find out how they do it. One thought I had is to find a benefactor who would support me financially to paint and then I would hire a business manager and share all the profits with my benefactor. Is there anyone out there who has known anyone who has done this?
