I've met many people who say, "I'll wait tables, I'll work at Starbuck's, I'll do WHATEVER I have to do to live in NYC." That's all fine and dandy, but a lot of other people are doing that too!! One the other hand, I've had friends who saved up a little bit of cash and figured out a way to make friends here, so they knew how to find cheaper places to live or how to find good, non-crazy roommates.

I am sure I am telling you something you already know but I just wanted to remind you. If you are planning to move to NYC please make sure you have an air tight plan-financially.
	csant015 says: 12/27/2006	I have been to Ny and plan on living there for at least a year. I just give this advice that everyone gives to me when i tell them i want to live and study there. Moving to Ny is a big change and the atmosphere in New York is Business, everyones out to succeed and its cut throat. So grow some thick skin and prepare yourself in what ever field it is that you want to make in :)..get ready !!!!

	Laura15SecondPitch says: 04/26/2006	I've lived in NYC since 1989. I moved here at 18. LOVE IT!! I lived in the East Village for 13 glorious years and now moved to the Upper East Side, (since it is now CHEAPER to live on the Upper East Side than in the East Village, if you can believe it!)
