Recently a friend who works at home and has two young kids said she feels like she doesn’t have enough time to be a good mother or enough to do her work as well as she should. Her frustration was palpable.
Today I learned about WomensWallStreet.com which offers a bevy of great articles related to financial health and improving your life, in general. Men will also find many articles of interest.
Related to the half-baked question, check out their blog post titled Imperfection — and other great thoughts.
A key bit of advice is to become an imperfectionist by dropping three things from your to do list.
I’ve always said this. Just like companies succeed through focus and prioritization, it’s important to do this in your own life.
For Must Do To Do’s
- Can you delegate must-do tasks to someone else? You may have kept things like feeding the dogs on your plate due to habit of a conception that only you could do it. Can someone else can help?
- Is the tradeoff of funding a house cleaner worth doing your nails at home instead of getting a mani pedi? Or skipping that altogether and going au natural? (For me it is!)
- Relying on a Virtual Assistant to manage administrivia is becoming popular for people who want to save time for themselves by outsourcing personal tasks. Especially related to organizing parties or large personal projects, a virtual assistant could pay off.
If all else fails, carpe imperfection!
