The Best Reason to Social Network [ December 4th, 2008 ] Posted in » Happiness

When you’re happy, you can start a happiness virus through your social network, according to a Harvard and UC San Diego study.

So update your Twitter and Facebook status with good things and spread the love!

No conclusive info about when you’re down, although I know that’s as good a people repellant as B.O.

Old Robot Actors Don’t Fade Away. They become art historians!

I loved learning from Wired Magazine that Peter Weller of Robocop fame (and of course Buckaroo Banzai game as well) is pursuing a PhD in Italian Renaissance Art History at UCLA and has segued to hosting a show on the history channel which combines his new interests with his acting experience.

Kudos to an actor who’s doing what he loves and for loving something so off the beaten path of most Hollywood stories I hear.

Italian renaissance art historians rule!

Looking for an organizer that makes you think? Check out Jennifer Louden’s Life Organizer

For months I looked forward to the publication of Jennifer Louden’s "The Life Organizer: A Woman’s Guide to a Mindful Year - Tips, Stories, & Prompts to Focus on Your Needs & Navigate Your Dreams."

Jennifer’s Inner Organizer truly changed my life a few years ago simply based on asking questions and getting me to focus each week on what I wanted, along with stating my intention for the week.

If you are of the mind that "intentions" are "woo woo" think again. Just writing down something like "I’ll get all of my administrivia out of the way this week." can really get you to do it.

The size, feel, colors, and content in the Life Organizer are awesome. If you want to be more self-reflective in 2007, click the photo I took to see an example page. I highly recommend it (I’ll disclose I am an "affiliate" but mostly because I really do endorse Jennifer’s products).

There’s a discount and some extra tools when you buy it before April 1st. The pages aren’t dated so you really could start using it anytime!

PS: Check out Jennifer’s great ecards including one that’s for you to send a love note to yourself!

Helpful “resolutions” articles on Entrepreneur.com

If you’re an entrepreneur or aspire to be, you might be interested to see Entrepeneur.com’s New Year’s Resolutions From Top Entrepreneurs. It was fun to see that Donald Trump and I have the same resolution:

“My New Year’s resolution for 2007 is to make 2007 the best year ever!”

Anyone know if he has a life list or does he just do it?

How to Keep Your Resolutions is another useful article. I like this tip:

“Teach it to someone else. Become a mentor. This is a great way to cement a new habit–whatever you suggest to someone else, you should practice yourself.”
