Or something like that.
I just read an article about some fascinating findings discussed in a new book, "The Female Brain," by UCSF neuropsychiatrist Louann Brizendine.
- "…the female brain naturally releases oxytocin after a
20-second hug. The embrace bonds the huggers and triggers the brain’s trust
circuits. So Brizendine advises, don’t let a guy hug you unless you plan to
trust him."Could you really stand to hug someone you didn’t trust for 20 seconds?
- "Connecting through talking activates the pleasure centers in a girl’s brain."
Which explains excessive telephone calling, text messaging, or for you old folks throwing paper footballs in class. (Is that an obsolete communication mechanism?) - My favorite factoid is "Women remember fights that a man insists never happened."
I’m glad I’m not crazy. I guess I’m just a woman.
